Logistics Coordinator

Basic Job Functions:

Rytec Corporation is seeking a Logistics Coordinator at our Hartford facility who will be responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation and distribution of inbound and outbound shipments to ensure products are delivered accurately, on time, and in a cost-effective manner. This role works closely with customers, carriers, freight forwarders, sales, customer service, purchasing, and shipping teams to schedule shipments, provide freight quotes, track orders, and communicate shipment status updates. The position processes shipping transactions and maintains documentation using SAP, TMS, and other systems, including preparing bills of lading, export paperwork, and return shipment documentation. The Logistics Coordinator also verifies shipment accuracy, resolves transportation issues, maintains shipping records, and provides excellent customer service while supporting the continuous improvement of Rytec's logistics and transportation operations.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate daily inbound and outbound freight shipments, including scheduling pickups and deliveries.


• Maintain carrier and transportation networks while supporting cost and service improvements.


• Communicate shipment status and tracking information to customers, carriers, sales, and internal teams.


• Quote freight costs and arrange transportation for door, parts, and return (RMA) shipments.


• Process shipping transactions in SAP and TMS, including order completion, serialization, and freight documentation.


• Prepare and maintain shipping documents, including bills of lading (BOLs), export paperwork, and shipment records.


• Track, trace, and resolve shipment issues to ensure timely delivery.


• Verify order accuracy and shipment readiness prior to dispatch.


• Provide responsive, professional customer service and support logistics-related inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to work Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm schedule. 


• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Prior experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, distribution, or customer service.


• Experience working with ERP and Transportation management systems, such as SAP, TMS, Salesforce.


• Computer experience, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and the ability to learn in-house systems.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service and handling multiple projects.


• Strong administrative background. Proven ability to work independently and with others and be part of a team.


• Must be able to work well under pressure and meet critical deadlines.


• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.


• Ability to be flexible, supportive, and adaptive to changes in direction, priorities, and job duties.


• Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate rates, percentages, and freight-related costs.
