Position Summary: As Logistics Director, you will be responsible for efficiently running our warehouse, driving accountability and processes, and leading with best practices. Other key responsibilities include properly storing, managing, and coordinating the deployment of our client’s properties. You will also ensure consistency in processes and expectations, and alignment of goals, KPIs, and initiatives. In addition, develop standard operating procedures for warehouse and inventory operations and drive excellence in all areas.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Schedule and supervise warehouse personnel.
- Control and maintain warehouse equipment and materials.
- Supervise and/or participate in loading and receiving of all shipments and oversee and /or inspect all shipments for damage.
- Produce damage and client inventory reports. Maintain rental inventory. Provide up-to-date data for client inventory records.
- Maintain up-to-date shipping records. Verify completeness of shipments according to packing lists.
- Control input of inventories and disposition of storage.
- Track all labor per job and submit reports to Project & Account Managers for billing and/or verification against quotes.
- Measure, Track & Report on current SOPs to evaluate accuracy and effectiveness. Adjust procedures to improve the process.
- Review all vendor invoices ordered by this department.
- Maintain a well-organized and clean warehouse.
- Provide a safe working environment.
- Research new methods and procedures that will make this department more productive and efficient.
- Develop and implement strategic logistic planning for all projects associated with Exhibitus.
- Coordinate logistic show planning in collaboration with Account and Project Managers.
- Lead and be accountable for all aspects of the Logistic Center. The Shipping/Receiving Manager and Logistics Processing Manager will report directly to the Logistics Director.
- Monitor, evaluate, and improve the performance of all logistics processes.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure the accuracy of warehouse operations with the department manager.
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
- Lead the development, implementation, and review of logistics policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager on the need for supplementary labor during peak periods and when freight needs to be moved into the production area.
- Mentor and help develop career paths for junior team members.
- Work after hours and on weekends as needed to support project schedules, show requirements, freight movement, and other client service needs.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, receiving, freight coordination, and logistics planning.
- Ability to lead, schedule, supervise, mentor, and develop warehouse and logistics team members while promoting accountability and consistent performance expectations.
- Working knowledge of standard operating procedures, safety practices, compliance requirements, and best practices related to warehouse and logistics operations.
- Ability to analyze operational data, labor tracking, inventory records, damage reports, vendor invoices, and process performance to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records, manage multiple priorities, support peak workload periods, and ensure timely deployment of client properties.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to coordinate with Project Managers, Account Managers, Production leadership, vendors, and internal team members.
- Ability to evaluate current processes, recommend improvements, implement new procedures, and measure results against established goals, KPIs, and departmental initiatives.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, well-organized warehouse environment and supporting a culture of operational excellence.
Performance Expectations:
- Operational Accuracy and Documentation. The Logistics Director is expected to maintain accurate, current, and complete records related to inventory, shipping, receiving, labor tracking, damage reporting, storage, and vendor activity. These records should support reliable project planning, billing verification, client inventory management, and informed decision-making across the organization.
- Warehouse Safety, Organization, and Readiness. The Logistics Director is responsible for ensuring warehouse operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures, regulatory requirements, and company standards. The warehouse should remain clean, organized, and operationally ready to support loading, receiving, staging, storage, freight movement, and deployment activities.
- Leadership and Team Accountability. The Logistics Director is expected to provide clear leadership, direction, and communication to logistics personnel and direct reporting managers. This includes setting priorities, reinforcing performance expectations, supporting team development, mentoring junior team members, and promoting accountability throughout the Logistics Center.
- Cross-Department Coordination. The Logistics Director should coordinate effectively with Project Managers, Account Managers, Production leadership, vendors, and other internal stakeholders to support project schedules, show logistics, supplementary labor needs, freight movement, and timely deployment of client properties. Communication should be proactive, professional, and focused on preventing delays, errors, and operational gaps.
- Process Performance and Continuous Improvement. The Logistics Director is expected to monitor logistics processes on an ongoing basis, measure performance against SOPs, KPIs, goals, and departmental initiatives, and implement adjustments that improve accuracy, productivity, quality, and cost control. This role should actively research new methods, strengthen procedures, and promote best practices that support long-term efficiency and operational excellence.
- Department Ownership and Results. The Logistics Director is accountable for the overall performance of the Logistics Center, including oversight of reporting managers, department workflows, compliance standards, and logistics-related outcomes. Success in this role requires consistent execution, sound judgment, strong follow-through, and a demonstrated commitment to supporting company objectives and client needs.
