Logistics Planner

Main Focus

Responsible for creating, reviewing, processing, and taking ownership of customer shipments, both domestically and internationally.

Duties and Responsibilities

Area of Responsibility 1: Shipment Processing

• Process domestic and international shipments, including required documents for Sales Orders, Warehouse Stock Orders, and sample shipments.


• Create and provide shipping documents for all incoming and outgoing shipments (e.g., BOL, Packing List, C/A, MSDS, CCI, DGD, Invoice, Carrier Notification).


• Review all documents for accuracy and compliance with DOT and IMDG regulations.


• Review and post orders through the GPC Freight Processing system to finalize shipments.


• Create, update, and distribute international documents as required by each customer.

Area of Responsibility 2: Logistics Coordination & Optimization

• Coordinate with Customer Service, Shipping and Receiving, Sales, and dedicated fleet contacts to optimize utilization of dedicated trucks and mitigate transportation costs.


• Monitor route compliance and carrier performance; collaborate with Logistics team to improve routing guides.


• Coordinate transportation services for shipments using non-dedicated carriers.


• Reconcile freight shipments in GPC to ensure accuracy of freight costs and resolve issues; support month-end GPC reporting for Costs and Controlling.


• Communicate and trouble shoot issues or discrepancies with customer shipments to relevant stakeholders.


• Experience Booking, monitoring, and troubleshooting of international freight shipments

Safety & Environment

• Follow all company safety protocols in shipping and logistics activities.


• Ensure compliance with environmental standards during transportation and documentation processes.

Quality Assurance

• Support ISO 9001, 14001, and Responsible Care Programs

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential:

• 5+ years of experience in Domestic FTL /LTL /International transportation


• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, and SAP.


• Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel


• Ability to identify and solve problems independently.


• Strong organizational, proofreading, verbal, and written communication skills.


• Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.


• Strong Critical Thinking Skills

 Desirable:

• Experience reconciling freight costs and working with GPC systems.


• Familiarity with international shipping documentation requirements.


• Hazardous Materials Logistics experience


• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics , or related field


• Knowledge of Customs compliance and international trade regulations
