The Logistics Specialist will provide hands-on warehouse, hardware accountability, and deployment logistics support for federal client network modernization and technology deployment efforts. This position is responsible for receiving Government and contractor-furnished equipment, maintaining accurate property and inventory records, staging equipment for engineering provisioning, and preparing completed hardware for shipment to federal Districts, shore units, and individual cutter installations.
The ideal candidate has direct experience supporting DoD property accountability and logistics processes, including DD Form 1149, DD Form 250, shipping/receiving documentation, serial-number tracking, inventory reconciliation, and hardware disposition.
Warehouse & Hardware Receiving
- Receive, inspect, inventory, and document incoming network and IT hardware shipments
- Validate equipment quantities, model numbers, serial numbers, asset information, and shipment documentation against purchase orders and Government property records
- Identify shipping discrepancies, damaged equipment, missing hardware, or incorrect serial numbers and coordinate resolution
- Maintain organized warehouse storage locations and hardware accountability throughout the equipment lifecycle
Federal Property Documentation
- Prepare, review, and maintain DD Form 1149, DD Form 250, shipping manifests, packing lists, hand receipts, and related Government property documentation
- Maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation for Government-furnished and contractor-acquired property
- Support property transfers between warehouses, provisioning facilities, federal districts, shore commands, and cutters
- Ensure all property records and supporting documentation are complete and audit ready
Inventory & Asset Tracking
- Maintain detailed hardware inventory including:
- Manufacturer and model
- Serial number
- Asset/property number
- Quantity
- Current location
- Provisioning status
- Destination unit/cutter
- Shipment and delivery status
- Perform inventory reconciliations and physical inventory counts
- Track equipment from initial receipt through provisioning, staging, shipment, installation, and final Government acceptance
- Maintain inventory tracking tools, spreadsheets, databases, or Government-approved logistics systems
Engineering Provisioning Support
- Stage and organize network hardware for engineering teams performing provisioning, configuration, software updates, STIG implementation, testing, and validation
- Maintain clear separation and status identification for equipment awaiting provisioning, actively being configured, completed, or requiring remediation
- Coordinate hardware movement between warehouse storage and engineering provisioning benches
- Track hardware through the provisioning workflow to ensure serial-number-level accountability
Deployment Preparation & Shipping
- Receive completed equipment from engineering and verify equipment against deployment requirements
- Relabel, package, palletize, and stage provisioned hardware for shipment
- Build deployment packages based on USCG District, shore-unit, or cutter-specific requirements
Prepare equipment for:
- Large District or regional deployments
- Individual shore-unit installations
- Individual cutter installations
- Technical refresh and replacement activities
- Coordinate shipping documentation, labels, manifests, and delivery schedules
- Ensure hardware is properly protected, labeled, documented, and associated with the correct destination before release for shipment
