Logistics Supervisor-Receiving

DEPARTMENT:  Supply Chain

FLSA STATUS:  EXEMPT

REPORTS TO:  Logistics Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of employees to conduct the activities that occur in the Receiving department.  This working role owns the processes in the respective areas of responsibility and leads continuous improvement efforts.  The Logistics Supervisor routinely communicates and interacts with all functions of the business, but has close interaction with Safety, Quality, Procurement, Inventory, Assembly, and the Project Management functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Leads a union workforce of material handlers to accomplish assigned work.


2. Interprets company policies and procedures to workers and enforces safety rules and regulations.


3. Ensures the Receiving process is executed accurately and efficiently.  This includes the execution of SAP transactions.


4. Works closely with Inventory Management during the Put-Away process to ensure inventory accuracy is maintained.


5. Review and assess the Receiving and Put-Away processes to implement process improvements.


6. Analyzes and supports workers in solving work problems.


7. Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.


8. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.


9. Maintains all recordkeeping which includes receipts, transfer orders, packing slips, and time/attendance records.


10. Conducts performance evaluations for direct reports.


11. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. May directly supervise up to 20 employees.


2. Must be able to work all shifts and weekends, if necessary. 


3. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 


4. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing of work.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams in a Logistics setting.

• Computer Skills: ERP/MRP Systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).


• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings/prints, and procedure manuals. 


• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 


• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees or organization.


• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Fives Intralogistics is a manufacturer of automated sorting equipment.  Employees of the company work in a light industrial environment and must follow established safety policies.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

TRAVEL:

This position requires limited business travel by airplane, car, and/or train and public transportation.  International travel is also anticipated.  The candidate must be capable of completing airplane trips of 10 or more hours.  Overnight travel is estimated as 5% of the time.
