Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s: Specialized Support for Our Smallest Patients

Cedars‑Sinai Guerin Children’s houses a brand new, Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Each year, approximately 7,000 babies are born at Cedars-Sinai, and our Los Angeles NICU provides continuous, life-sustaining care for those who are seriously ill. Specialists tailor treatment methods, from infant-led feeding to Southern California’s first Neuro Critical Care Program.

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented NICU Logistics Technician to support patient care and daily unit operations. This role is responsible for maintaining adequate supplies, organized storage areas, clean and functional equipment, and a safe, efficient care environment for patients, families, and staff.

  • Maintain organized, clean, accessible, and properly labeled storage spaces.
  • Check expiration dates on supplies, formula, fortifiers, sterile packs, and other clinical items.
  • Inspect equipment, charging stations, batteries, and preventative-maintenance labels.
  • Monitor NICU equipment through the RTLS system and report missing or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain emergency supplies, blood warmers, and specialty procedure packs.
  • Support infection prevention and safety practices, including biohazard transport and eyewash-station checks.
  • Remove used, expired, damaged, or improperly stored supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate department deliveries, laundry, and special-order items.
  • Assist with bedside emergencies and other operational needs as directed.
  • Collaborate effectively with clinical, environmental services, central supply, and other hospital departments.
  • Provide dependable, responsive service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience, required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Previous hospital, healthcare logistics, supply, or NICU support experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely handle supplies and equipment and respond to changing unit priorities.
