JOB SUMMARY
This is a daytime, Monday through Friday position with holidays, evenings, and weekends off. The LPN will assist the Residential Nurse Trainer to coordinate care and ensure that the medical needs of the individuals served by the agency are met.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
• Check the accuracy of monthly medication shipments and provide documentation for corrections/changes to the
pharmacy with oversight by the Nurse Trainer
• Deliver medications to eight group homes in Charleston on a monthly basis
• Assist the Nurse Trainer in reviewing electronic MAR records and medication errors
• Monitor medication administration passes made by authorized direct support personnel to ensure compliance with
applicable rules and policies/procedures
• Provide clinical nursing services, as assigned
• Maintain written records of services provided, such as nursing notes
• Provide advice and/or assistance for emergency or non-routine medical situations, including first aid treatment
• Assist the Nurse Trainer to complete Health Risk Screening Tool assessments and update the data contained within
the system
• Administer medications that cannot be administered by non-licensed personnel, as needed
REQUIREMENTS
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Possess an unencumbered Illinois Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
• Previous clinical experience and/or experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is
preferred, but not required
• Must pass a criminal background check, as required by the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS
46), and a DCFS Child Abuse and Neglect background check
• Successfully complete and maintain American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification
• Must possess basic computer skills and have familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel
SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday from 8 am – 5 pm (40 hours per week)
WAGES
$28 per hour - $30 per hour, depending upon experience
PAY SCHEDULE
Staff are paid every two weeks with a direct deposit option available upon request
