Position Overview

Lutheran Haven is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our night shift nursing team. This position is ideal for a compassionate nurse who enjoys building meaningful relationships with residents while providing high-quality clinical care in a supportive assisted living environment.

Working under the direction of the Resident Care Coordinator, the LPN is responsible for coordinating and delivering direct nursing care, supervising resident care staff during the shift, maintaining accurate medical documentation, and promoting a safe, healthy environment for residents through adherence to established clinical policies and infection prevention practices.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support Lutheran Haven's Mission and Ministry through compassionate resident care.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and fellow team members.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to caregivers to ensure excellent quality of care.
  • Conduct routine resident rounds throughout the shift, monitoring resident well-being, safety, and comfort.
  • Receive and communicate accurate shift reports to ensure continuity of care.
  • Oversee evening operations within the Assisted Living Facility, including staff supervision and resident care delivery.
  • Promptly communicate significant resident changes or urgent concerns to the supervisor or Administrator on Call.
  • Perform nursing assessments and assist with resident admissions, including reviewing physician orders and evaluating care needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and facility policies.
  • Coordinate physician-ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services.
  • Maintain security and accountability for medications, including controlled substances.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
  • Accurately update medication records and physician orders during resident transfers or discharges.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support quality resident care.

 

Qualifications

  • Current Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
  • At least one (1) year of successful clinical nursing experience required.
  • Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, geriatrics, or rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
