LVN Pediatrics

Lone Star Circle of Care is a federally qualified community health center serving Central Texas. Were it not for our clinics, adults and children without health insurance would not have access to what we call a person-centered, behaviorally enhanced health care home, which includes primary care, dental, integrated mental health, women’s health services, and low cost medications. As long as there are medically disenfranchised and underserved people and a need for the services we provide, Lone Star Circle of Care will continue the pursuit of our mission bringing high quality, affordable health care to those in need.

•Obtain, evaluate, and record patient history in medical file
•Obtain and measure vital signs and record information on patients' charts

•Use thermometer, scales, sphygmomanometer/stethoscope, scalp vein needles, hearing/vision screening equipment, pulse oximetry, typanometer, basic laboratory, i.e., microscope, centrifuge, hematology analyzer, and specimen collection

•Prepare and maintain examination/treatment rooms, including cleaning and sterilizing instruments, and inventory of medical supplies and materials

•Assist in the examination of patients under the direction of a physician

•Explain treatment procedures to patients

•May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis

•Prepare and administer oral medications and routine immunizations

•Perform routine diagnostic and laboratory tests

•Other duties as assigned

•Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing school required

•Valid Texas LVN license required

•BLS (CPR & AED) certification issued by the American Heart Association required

•Previous nursing experience in a Clinic/Outpatient environment preferred

•Proficiency in Spanish is preferred
