Job Description - Machine Operator - Fabrication

MACHINE OPERATOR - FABRICATION, Elliott Industries

The company is at an exciting inflection as we continue to expand our existing brand portfolio and deepen relationships with new and existing customers. The Machine Operator - Fabrication will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operator, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on assigned fabrication machines.


We are currently seeking a Press Brake operator for our overnight shift, and a Copper/Brake operator for our day shift.



LOCATION: Onsite - 1509 Hamilton Rd, Bossier City, LA 71111



DAY SHIFT SCHEDULE: 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday


NIGHT SHIFT SCHEDULE: 3:30PM - 2:00AM Monday - Thursday



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.

  • Operating/monitoring multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams.

  • Adjusting machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications in a timely manner.

  • Communicating with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.

  • Housekeeping and sanitation.



QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:



  • High school diploma/GED required.

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment is required.

  • Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Machine Shop.

  • Must have the ability to follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.

  • Must have the ability to read fabrication/welding blueprints, schematics and manuals.

  • Analytical Skills and high-level attention to detail are both required.

  • Ability to work within a team and independently.

  • Physical stamina, strength, and ability to handle heavy equipment are required.

  • Must be able to multitask.

  • Work primarily takes place on the manufacturing factory floor.

  • May encounter occasional stressful situations.

  • Work may include responding to critical customer driven situations which may result in working overtime.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to lift 50 - 75 pounds.

  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.

  • Work regular shifts to include evenings; weekends; and/or holidays as assigned. May by subject to call back, on call and/or emergency shifts.

  • Must possess general manual dexterity to operate computer, equipment, tools, controls, or other objects; reach with hands or arms.

  • Must possess mental acuity for attention to accuracy and detail.

  • Must see in the normal visual range with or without correction.

  • Must hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
