Laminator Operator I (Machine Operator)

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Laminator Operator I to join our manufacturing team in Elk Grove Village. In this role, you will report directly to the Department Manager and be responsible for operating laminating equipment safely and efficiently. Shift & Compensation
Choose the schedule that best fits your lifestyle. We operate on a 12-hour continental schedule (working 3 days one week, 4 days the next, with every other weekend off).
- Day Shift (A & B): 5:45 AM – 6:15 PM | $21.74 / hour
- Night Shift: 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM | $23.10 / hour (Includes a base rate of $21.10 + a $2.00/hour shift differential)
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up, run, and maintain laminating and lathe machinery according to standard operating procedures.
- Chemical & Formula Management: Accurately calculate, mix, and add adhesives based on established formulas.
- Quality Assurance: Interpret job orders, verify first-piece conformance to specifications, and manage raw material rolls and substrates.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean work area to SQF standards, handle hazardous waste using satellite containers, and immediately report unsafe acts or conditions.
- Team Collaboration: Assist with machine coverage during breaks and actively participate in performance audits and continuous improvement teams.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of machine operator experience (laminator experience is highly preferred but not required).
- Technical Skills: Proven experience measuring and working with chemicals; ability to read a ruler or tape measure with precision.
- Core Skills: Strong basic math skills and the ability to interpret technical job orders.
- Work Environment: Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing facility that can occasionally be dirty.
- Track Record: Excellent history of attendance, workplace safety, and product quality.
