Your Impact:

Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiencies:  

• Sets up machine and observes machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and caliper.  
• Sets up and controls operation of manual and computerized deburring and tooling machines to perform series of machining operations, such as drilling, chamfering, and deburring.  
• Inspects "first part” and inspects work pieces throughout the production run for out-of-tolerance machining.  
• Responsibly maintains inventory for raw materials consumed on jobs and work orders so that parts can be re-ordered within appropriate lead times  

• Clean machine and work area.  

   

Qualifications:

• Must have proficient English reading and writing skills and be able to read and comprehend MSDS sheets and standard work instructions. High School Diploma/GED is required.  
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in machining
• Thorough operational knowledge and skills of specific CNC mills and lathes to be operated with the ability to calculate and set machine controls either manually or by entering commands  
• Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently  
• Ability to set up machine independently with no supervision
• Ability to keep record of parts made  
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment, read drawings and blueprints, and be familiar with common machine and measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members.
• Ability to work independently with moderate guidance
• Delivers quality work consistently.
• Recognize and solve problems; evaluates and selects solutions from established options.

Working Conditions:

• Regularly exerting up to 20 lbs. of force and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Bending body downward and forward at the waist.
• Standing for sustained periods of time.  
• Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
