Description

The Utility is responsible for supporting the maintenance and daily operations of a commercial facility by performing general labor, preventative maintenance, repairs, and facility support functions. This position assists Building Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, and Facility Management staff in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient environment for building occupants and visitors.

Shift: Monday - Friday | Day Shift

Payrate: hourly rate | Weekly pay

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position.   A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Building Engineers and Maintenance Technicians with preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Perform general labor duties including lifting, moving, transporting, and organizing materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Support furniture moves, office reconfigurations, and tenant move-in/move-out activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of mechanical rooms, storage areas, rooftops, loading docks, and common areas.
  • Assist with changing air filters, replacing light bulbs, and performing basic maintenance repairs.
  • Remove trash, debris, and recyclable materials from designated areas.
  • Perform minor painting, patching, caulking, and touch-up work as assigned.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, including litter removal and exterior property upkeep.
  • Deliver supplies, tools, and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, events, and special projects.
  • Report maintenance deficiencies, safety hazards, and operational concerns to supervisors.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Respond to routine service requests and work orders as directed.
  • Assist during emergency situations and support building recovery efforts when necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

 

Experience

  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance, custodial services, construction, warehouse operations, or general labor preferred.
  • Commercial building experience is a plus.
