Maintenance Carpenter

Salary Range:$75,536.50 - $75,536.50

Works under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor in General Services to provide skilled labor for the construction and maintenance of City owned buildings and facilities. Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment in establishment working from blueprints, line drawings, shop drawings, or oral instructions. Builds, repairs, and installs using carpenter's hand tools and power tools. Drives various types of trucks to and from work site to haul materials and equipment.



 

Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Requires the use of equipment such as hand tools, saws, drills, rotary hammers, etc. Requires ability to lift equipment and tools (approximately 90 pounds). Drives trucks to and from various work sites throughout city.



TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Work is performed inside buildings exposed to dust and outside exposed to changing weather conditions and temperatures. First Class Journeyman Carpenter and 4 years' experience, or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Experience repairing overhead doors and locks preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment.
