RIGHT NOW.\n\n##### \n\nJohn Deere is an equal opportunity employer, including disabled \u0026 veterans. \n\nPrimary Location: United States (US) - Illinois - East Moline \nFunction: Factory Engineering (CA) \nTitle: Maintenance Engineer - 119992 \nOnsite/Remote:Onsite Position\n\n## Your Responsibilties\n\nAs a Maintenance Engineer / Team Lead for John Deere Harvester Works, located onsite in East Moline, IL, you will provide engineering analysis, technical expertise, project management/coordination, and advanced troubleshooting support of the factory\u0027s machinery and infrastructure. \nIn addition, you will:\n\n * Assign and monitor the work of skilled-trades personnel to accomplish customer requests, preventative maintenance, and project work\n * Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines.\n * Follow the organization\u0027s health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.\n * Plan for maintenance of equipment that improves reliability, efficiency, quality and safety\n * Diagnose machine malfunctions to root cause, recommend solutions, and support the execution of the repair/improvement plan\n * Provide expert review and analysis of equipment spare parts lists, preventive maintenance plans, and documentation\n * 3rd shift position 10:00pm to 6:30am \n\n\n\nVISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position \n\n## What Skills You Need\n\n * 3 or more years of general maintenance, mechanical engineering, or factory automation experience\n * 3 or more years of equipment troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment\n * Ability and willingness to support a multi-shift or extended-shift operation\n * Ability and willingness to work occasional overtime, including weekends\n * Effective communication, both verbal and written\n * Ability and willingness to work 3rd shift is required\n\n\n\n## What Makes You Stand Out\n\n * Experience in a maintenance leadership role in a union environment\n * Technical experience with design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems\n * Automation and controls troubleshooting experience with Allen-Bradley components and Rockwell Automation PLC software\n * 1 or more years of experience interfacing with machines through multiple communication protocols (e.g. Ethernet, DeviceNet, Serial, Profibus, Modbus, etc.)\n * Experience working within SAP PM module\n * Experience with machinery and equipment safety standards (e.g. OSHA 29 CFR 1910, NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, etc.)\n\n\n\n## Education\n\nIdeally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical, electrical, or related field\n\n\n\nWhat You\u0027ll Get\n\nAt John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
