Maintenance Helper (Laborer)

The Role:
The Maintenance Helper will assist maintenance personnel with preventative maintenance, basic repairs, equipment upkeep, facility maintenance, and general labor duties. The role will help ensure machinery, tools, work areas, and facility systems remain safe, clean, and operational.

Responsibilities:

  Assist maintenance personnel with routine maintenance and basic equipment repairs.

  
  


• 
  

  Support preventative maintenance activities on shop machinery, tools, and facility equipment.

  
  


• 
  

  Perform general labor tasks including cleaning, organizing, moving materials, and maintaining work areas.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with changing filters, lubricating equipment, replacing basic components, and other routine maintenance activities.

  
  


• 
  

  Use basic hand and power tools safely.

  
  


• 
  

  Help troubleshoot minor equipment or facility issues under supervision.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain clean and safe production and maintenance areas.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with facility repairs and general upkeep as needed.

  
  


• 
  

  Follow all OSHA, company safety, and lockout/tagout procedures.

  
  


• 
  

  Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or maintenance concerns to supervisors.

  
  

Requirements:

• 
  

  Previous maintenance, construction, manufacturing, or general labor experience preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong reliability and attendance.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  
  


• 
  

  Commitment to workplace safety.

  
  

Nice to Have:

• 
  

  Previous experience in a fabrication, welding, construction, or manufacturing environment.

  Basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or equipment maintenance knowledge.

  Forklift or equipment operating experience.

  Familiarity with preventative maintenance procedures.
