We are seeking an experienced manufacturing maintenance professional who is ready to step into a position with greater responsibility, visibility, and long-term growth potential.
This role will help oversee maintenance activities and a team of technicians at a manufacturing facility near Lexington, Kentucky. A major focus of the position will be coordinating preventive maintenance activities and helping implement and roll out a new Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
You do not need to already be a Maintenance Manager. This opportunity is well suited for a Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Coordinator, Lead Maintenance Technician, or experienced Senior Maintenance Technician who is ready to take the next step toward maintenance leadership.
The manufacturing operation runs 24 hours a day, 5 days per week and is located within a larger company complex near the organization's headquarters, providing excellent exposure to company leadership.
Two previous maintenance managers have been promoted within the organization and remain onsite, providing valuable support and mentorship to the person stepping into this position.
The company operates multiple facilities throughout the United States and more than 50 locations worldwide, offering additional opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities throughout the manufacturing facility
- Help oversee and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians
- Prioritize, schedule, and track maintenance work
- Coordinate preventive maintenance (PM) activities to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime
- Participate in the implementation and rollout of a new CMMS
- Help organize equipment records, preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and maintenance history within the CMMS
- Monitor open work orders and help ensure maintenance activities are completed and properly documented
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production and other plant departments
- Help identify recurring equipment issues and support corrective actions
- Assist with planning equipment repairs, scheduled maintenance, and plant maintenance activities
- Improve maintenance organization, documentation, scheduling, and workflow
- Communicate maintenance priorities and equipment concerns to appropriate plant personnel
- Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
- Work closely with the Facilities Manager while developing toward increased maintenance leadership responsibility
Qualifications
- 4–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous manufacturing maintenance experience
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility that utilizes a CMMS
- Understanding of the value of CMMS systems for preventive maintenance, work orders, equipment history, scheduling, and maintenance organization
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities, PMs, work orders, or maintenance personnel is preferred
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize maintenance activities in an active manufacturing environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance technicians, production personnel, and plant leadership
- Interest in developing into a larger maintenance leadership or management position
Experience may come from a variety of manufacturing environments, including food and beverage, automotive, feed manufacturing, or other industrial manufacturing operations.
Education
A college or technical degree is preferred but not required. Relevant manufacturing maintenance experience will be strongly considered.
