Position Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled mechanical and electrical maintenance to support safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role ensures minimal downtime, supports continuous improvement, and maintains compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in a fast‑paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance — Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery, packaging lines, conveyors, pumps, motors, mixers, and utilities equipment.
Troubleshooting & Repairs — Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues; repair or replace defective components to restore equipment to optimal operation.
Production Support — Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
Safety & Compliance — Follow all OSHA, GMP, and facility safety procedures; ensure lockout/tagout (LOTO) is strictly applied.
Documentation — Accurately record work orders, parts usage, and maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
Continuous Improvement — Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
Parts & Inventory — Assist with spare parts identification, ordering, and inventory control.
Collaboration — Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to support operational goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food, beverage, CPG, or industrial preferred).
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes.
Basic to intermediate electrical knowledge (motors, sensors, PLC awareness).
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or off‑shifts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in food or beverage manufacturing with GMP knowledge.
Welding, fabrication, or machining skills.
Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or OEE principles.
Electrical certification or technical school training.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders throughout the shift.
Working in hot, cold, or humid environments as required by production.
Work Environment
Fast‑paced manufacturing facility with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and industrial equipment.
Must follow all PPE and safety protocols at all times.
