Job Description - Maintenance Mechanic

Description

Responsibilities:



  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.

  • Lead and hold employees accountable in achieving maintenance goals and enhance employee work performance and productivity through coaching and feedback.

  • Participate in safety investigations as required.

  • Direct the troubleshooting of equipment failures to determine root cause and initiate appropriate remedial action.

  • Oversee quality maintenance and repair of equipment to improve availability and reliability for production.

  • Execute daily and weekly work schedules to ensure work is completed on time.

  • Collect and analyze work delay codes to identify challenges to timely completion of scheduled jobs and work with available resources to reduce delays.

  • Ensure preventative maintenance compliance and that repair history is properly documented.

  • Assist in sourcing and requisitioning maintenance supplies, equipment, and services within budgeted guidelines.

  • Use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as PM compliance, schedule compliance and break-in work as tools to improve maintenance execution.

  • Ensure the company’s current policies, procedures, H&S programs, and corporate security guidelines are applied effectively in 2 ways communication.


Requirements:



  • Three to five years of work experience in a manufacturing plant as a Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician.

  • Knowledge and experience working with high-speed equipment and electric-pneumatic controls.

  • Able to use both a MIG welder, and ARC welder.

  • Able to order parts and maintain inventory of all maintenance-related material.

  • Ability to use a lathe, and milling machine considered an asset.

  • Advanced working knowledge on mechanical/electrical systems and components; including, but not limited to, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Pumps, Gear Boxes, Power Transmission, Material Handling, Sensor, Transmitters, DC and AC circuits, Transformers, Power and Energy, Arc Flash

  • Working knowledge and experience on Automation; Industrial Process and Control system; PLC; Measuring Devices; Instrumentation; Robotic Application; Bulk Handling System

  • Working knowledge and experience on Facility Maintenance (Roof, Dock, plumbing) and Plant Equipment (Boiler, Air Compressors, Ammonia/Freon/Glycol Refrigeration, HVAC, Ventilation, Cooling Tower, Condenser, Backflow preventer, Sprinkler and Fire Extinguisher, Wastewater System, …)

  • Planning, scheduling & assigning ability while well experienced in defining priorities, required skills & resources.

  • Computer Savvy, hold practical knowledge on Microsoft Office.

  • Multitasked in a fast-paced environment with lots of changes in direction bases business requirement.

  • Being an example for others; being a Safety-Oriented Supervisor with a positive “can do attitude”.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other departments.
