Maintenance Mechanic

Salary Range: $32.25 to $40.31/Hourly

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs preventive maintenance (PM) services work, inspection, and repair of grounds, building and structures; including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing work for the maintenance, repair, and overhauling of the heating, cooling, cleaning, filtering and circulating systems, other related building and maintenance systems, related fixtures and the other utility systems. This includes performing maintenance tasks involving electrical, air conditioning, and heating equipment, plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, cement and tile setting and grounds keeping and landscaping.


• Ensures finished projects meet accepted trade standards, and documented. Plans and organizes work schedule to meet deadlines.


• Uses motor vehicles, outdoor equipment such as lawn mowers and snow blowers, personal protective equipment, dollies, pressure washer, hand tools, ladders, air compressors, brooms, vacuums, meters, welders, leak detection equipment, gauges, carts, knives, hose, maps, power tools, scaffolds, air powered equipment, hazardous chemicals, torches, refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, and other HVAC/R equipment.


• Assists to in utility failures drills including, bomb threats, fire, hazardous materials spills, external and internal disasters.


• Assists with snow and ice removal during the winter months.


• Assist with demolition (tearing out ceiling tiles, ripping down sheet rock walls, removes cabling, pipes and electrical lines).


• Meets Center for Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines for Infection Control in Health Care Facilities.


• Determines protective measures required by an Infection Control Risk Assessment.


• Assist with general work orders issued from Facility Maintenance Manager or Facility Maintenance Supervisor.


• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience:

Two years (2) of direct work experience in the construction or maintenance field.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalency (HSE)

Certificate from Trade or Vocational School
