We are currently looking for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to be based out of New Bedford, MA.
What you’ll do:
Ensures the safe operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Must be available to work overtime on short notice.
Collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers to achieve productivity and site goals

What you’ll bring:
3+ years of Maintenance Mechanic experience with heavy machinery and mechanical equipment.
Experience in maintenance and/or repair of motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
Experience with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
Must have basic mechanic tools on site.
Must have technical understanding and knowledge.
The ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected event in a calm and logical manner.
Must be able work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to lift, pull, or push at least 50 lbs.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed to support production requirements

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $31.71. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
