What You'll Do
- Advises and coordinates with representatives to solve planning problems concerning area assigned
- May prepare reports and maintain records of maintenance/tooling planning, coordination, and scheduling activities, which requires the knowledge and ability to utilize PeopleSoft, PDMLink, Optix, iTools,MicrosoftExcel, Word, and Outlook effectively
- Maintains a working knowledge of the work scheduling process
- Develops written specifications for the procurement of materials at the required quality level
Coordinates the acquisition of materials/tooling, makes required changes in applicable schedules, and coordinates the flow of work involving area assigned
- Reviews the development of scheduling systems to control the status of work and preparation of reports showing the status of assigned programs
- Contacts representatives relative to scheduling changes made and ensures necessary flow of materials,tooling, products, and/or services
- May be required to verify various safety related information regarding the preparation and conduct of maintenance/tooling activities
- Coordinates planning of work to ensure quality, safety, and production requirements are satisfied
- Coordinates assigned activities with Plant supervisors as appropriate for the accomplishment of assigned activities in accordance with directive schedules
- Controls load factors and flow of work to ensure optimum use of manpower, tools and equipment, and reporting of discrepancies
- Accountable for all direct output assigned and for providing direct output support to his/her manager
- Responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal, State, Department of Energy (DOE), Corporate and Plant rules, regulations and Plant-wide operating policies and procedures
- Recommends, prepares, and maintains operating procedures, systems, policies, and controls pertaining to the assigned area of responsibility
- May conduct inspections and evaluations of structures, systems, and components to prepare work planning documents
- Researches new techniques and recommends changes in scheduling based on a comprehensive knowledge of Plant control methods, programming and scheduling procedures
- Develops and coordinates the review and approval of tooling work documents following applicable procedures and guides
- Maintains a working knowledge of the applicable scheduling process
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Required to attend and/or successfully complete training classes as determined by the Training and Development Technologies Department, through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2),and Management
- Participates in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls
- Understands a worker’s right to stop work when they feel their own or other’s personal safety is jeopardized
- Attends all required safety meetings and training; offers suggestions on improvements to the work environment
- All qualifications, work history, training, education and ability to perform the functions and responsibilities involved will be determined by a comprehensive interview and background evaluation
Minimum Job Requirements
- Technician: Associate Degree in related discipline with: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. (Typical relevant experience 7–10 years.)
- Production Maintenance and Security: High School Diploma with: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience. OR Associate Degree in related discipline with : Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. (Typical relevant experience 7–10 years.)

Preferred Job Requirements
- Working knowledge and ability to plan and schedule work within the area of responsibility
- Ability to plan, review, communicate, and modify maintenance/tooling work documents and assist inestablishing priorities to ensure schedules are met
- Ability to coordinate the movement of products, materials, tools, and/or services to ensure schedules are met
- Proficiency in word processing and database applications including Planning software
