Maintenance Service Writer - VVTA

Pay Rate: $26.00 hour

Knowledge and Experience: 

• Two (2) years’ experience as a Service Writer

• Provide excellent customer service from intake to release of vehicle, and perform any additional follow up

• Listen carefully to drivers’ descriptions and assess the vehicle to determine the best repair plan

• Communicate with Parts Department and technicians to make sure everything needed is on hand

• Maintain records by keeping all files organized

• Analyze operating problems effectively and develop effective courses of action

• Experience working with fleets

• Must be computer literate

Skills: 

• Must be reliable

• Must work efficiently on team

• Must have positive attitude

• Good communication skills

• Must be able to stand long periods of time, kneel, push, and pick up items up to 50 lbs

• Must pass 7-year background check and ongoing drug screening

Key Accountabilities: 

• Identify services needed

• Clarification of driver complaints

• Preparation of repair work order (RO)

• Dispatching (RO) to technicians and communicating.

• Maintaining drivers informed of repairs and estimated times.

• Perform proper hood checks

• Transportation of vehicle when needed

• Perform pre- inspection

• Administration of meter seal appointments

• Daily lot walks to ensure every hard-down vehicle is noted on the rear window with expected repair or part
