Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Newport News, VA. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks and repairs to keep residential and commercial properties in top condition. Key Responsibilities

• General Maintenance: Perform repairs and upkeep on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting systems in both residential and commercial buildings.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as they arise.
• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure systems are working efficiently, minimizing potential issues before they occur.
• Work Orders: Complete and document work orders, ensuring tasks are performed in a timely and professional manner.
• Customer Service: Address maintenance concerns from tenants and clients promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for tracking and reporting purposes.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in general property maintenance or a related field.
• Skills: Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to solve maintenance issues efficiently.
• Customer Service: Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Driver’s License: Must have reliable transportation to travel between job sites.
• Availability: Flexibility to work weekends or after-hours for emergency repairs as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC Experience: Certifications or experience working with HVAC systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of Codes: Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations.
• EPA Certification: Experience handling refrigerants or EPA certification is a plus.
• Property Management Software: Experience with property management systems is beneficial.
