Maintenance Technician (Boiler Specialist)

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Residential Property Maintenance Technician with expertise in servicing and installing boilers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing heating systems in residential properties while addressing routine maintenance and tenant work orders promptly and professionally. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of residential maintenance needs and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Boiler Installation and Servicing:

  • Install, maintain, and repair residential boilers and heating systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks to ensure boilers operate efficiently and safely.
  • Diagnose issues and conduct timely repairs.

• Routine Maintenance:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on residential property systems, including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Ensure all property systems are in compliance with safety and building standards.
  • Perform regular inspections of common areas and mechanical equipment.

• Work Order Management:

  • Address and complete tenant work orders in a timely, professional manner.
  • Accurately log all completed work orders and maintenance activities in the property management system.
  • Communicate with tenants to provide updates on repairs or maintenance requests.

• General Maintenance:

  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC troubleshooting, and appliance servicing.
  • Collaborate with property management to prioritize and execute repairs.

• Safety Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations when working with heating systems and other property equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential safety hazards.

• Record Keeping:

  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and completed work orders in the property management system.
  • Maintain inventory of tools and parts needed for servicing boilers and other equipment.

• Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with property managers and tenants to address maintenance needs.
  • Provide updates on project status and completion timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience:

  • Proven experience in boiler installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Familiarity with residential property maintenance tasks, including routine maintenance and work order management.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.

• Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications for boiler installation and servicing (e.g., HVAC certification, EPA Section 608, or similar).

• Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and tools.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces or at heights as required.

• Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic proficiency in English; Spanish fluency is a plus.
