Job Description - Maintenance Technician II - Syrup, 2nd Shift

Maintenance Technician II - Syrup, 2nd Shift

At Torani, reliable equipment is essential to making the products our customers know and love. As we continue our journey toward our $1 Billion vision, we need equipment and maintenance practices that can grow with us, keeping our teams running safely, efficiently, and consistently while helping us deliver the quality our customers expect.

The Maintenance Technician II – Syrup is a skilled member of our Maintenance team who helps keep Torani's manufacturing equipment performing at its best. You'll balance responsive troubleshooting with preventive maintenance, using your mechanical and technical expertise to diagnose problems, identify root causes, and make repairs that last. Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and fellow Maintenance team members, you'll help strengthen equipment reliability, share your knowledge, and identify opportunities to improve the way we maintain and operate our equipment.

At Torani, a Certified B Corporation, we flavor more than just drinks—we flavor lives. You'll join a collaborative, people-first team where safety, curiosity, partnership, and continuous improvement are part of how we work every day. If you enjoy solving problems, learning how things work, and helping others succeed, you'll feel right at home here.

Success Factors (First 12–18 Months)

  • Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting: You developed a strong understanding of the equipment and systems that power our Syrup operation and became a dependable technical resource for the team. Using your industrial maintenance skills, you confidently diagnosed and repaired mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated equipment, including motors, pumps, filling and packaging equipment, vision systems, sensors, and PLC-controlled systems. You looked beyond the immediate symptoms to understand root causes, used drawings and technical resources to support your troubleshooting, and made repairs that were safe, thorough, and built to last.

  • Production Partnership & Support: You became a dependable partner to Manufacturing, Quality, and your fellow Maintenance team members, helping keep our Syrup operation running safely and effectively. You responded to equipment issues with urgency while taking the time to troubleshoot them correctly, understood how equipment performance affected production and product quality, and communicated clearly about issues, repairs, and next steps. You effectively prioritized competing work orders and production needs and could be counted on to jump in where your technical expertise was needed to help the broader team succeed.

  • Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Care: You consistently followed through on the details that make great maintenance work sustainable. You completed preventive maintenance thoroughly and on time and used equipment history, inspections, recurring issues, and what you observed on the floor to identify potential problems before they became breakdowns. You kept work orders, equipment history, parts information, and maintenance documentation accurate and up to date in our CMMS and made sure your work area, tools, and parts were ready for the next job. You shared your equipment knowledge with Manufacturing team members, helping them build confidence in routine equipment care, inspections, changeovers, and recognizing early signs that something may need attention.

  • Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving: You brought curiosity to equipment problems and continually looked for ways to make our equipment, maintenance practices, and manufacturing operation better. You used root cause analysis and continuous improvement practices such as 5S and Lean principles to understand recurring failures and identify sustainable solutions. You contributed ideas and technical expertise to equipment and process improvements, helped strengthen maintenance practices based on what we learned, and looked for opportunities to improve reliability, safety, quality, and efficiency rather than accepting recurring problems as simply part of the work.

  • Safety & Quality First: You approached every task with safety and quality at the forefront, from routine preventive maintenance to unexpected equipment repairs. You consistently followed safe maintenance practices, including lockout/tagout and required PPE, and understood how repairs, adjustments, and equipment condition could affect both team member safety and food safety. You followed GMP and HACCP requirements, spoke up when something didn't look right, and partnered with others to find the right solution. Whether completing planned maintenance or responding to an unexpected breakdown, you took pride in leaving the equipment and work area safe, clean, and ready to perform.

  • Have Fun!

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, including hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.

  • 2+ years of experience in food, beverage, or other regulated manufacturing preferred, with working knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and safe maintenance practices, including lockout/tagout.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems with limited supervision. Experience working with motors, pumps, pneumatics, sensors, conveyors, filling and packaging equipment, and other industrial systems, including working knowledge of three-phase power and electrical systems up to 480V.

  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and the ability to use electrical and mechanical drawings to support troubleshooting.

  • Experience using CMMS tools such as Limble, SAP, or similar systems to manage daily maintenance requests and accurately document completed work, along with basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  •  Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
