Position Title: Mammography / Radiology Technologist

 

Location:  Upland Hills Health - Mt. Horeb Clinic 

 

Role & Department: Mammography/Radiology Technologist in the Mt. Horeb Clinic

 

Hours & Shift:  Part-time (.6 FTE) 24 hours a week, Weekday position, Occasional Saturday

 

Role Responsibilities: 


  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring a positive and professional imaging experience.

  • Perform high-quality screening mammography examinations and general X-ray in accordance with physician orders and established imaging protocols.

  • Utilize technical knowledge and sound judgment to obtain accurate, high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists.

  • Educate and prepare patients for mammography procedures, addressing questions and ensuring patient comfort throughout the exam.

  • Assist patients with positioning and mobility needs before, during, and after examinations.

  • Maintain mammography equipment in optimal working condition, including routine quality control testing and reporting equipment concerns as needed.

  • Coordinate service and repair activities with vendors and equipment support personnel when necessary.

  • Experience working with all MQSA, ACR, state, and organizational quality assurance and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, quality control records, and departmental logs.

  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, providers, and other healthcare team members to support timely patient care.

  • Facilitate the transfer and sharing of imaging studies and reports with referring providers and other authorized healthcare entities.

  • Prioritize workflow efficiently while managing multiple patient appointments and maintaining quality standards.

  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and ensure imaging areas remain clean, organized, and prepared for patient care.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

  • Respond professionally and calmly in multiple situations while maintaining excellent customer service.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, accreditation activities, and ongoing professional development.

  • Adhere to radiation safety practices, infection prevention standards, and patient confidentiality requirements.

  • Support departmental goals and other duties as assigned to meet patient care and organizational needs.

  • Provide general X-ray imaging support for Family Practice and Urgent Care clinics, offering cross-coverage as needed during staffing shortages, absences, or workload fluctuations.


Qualifications:   



  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

  • Current Wisconsin Radiographer license in good standing

  • Current certification in Mammography (M); Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R)

  • At least one full year of prior Mammography and Imaging Technologist working experience

  • One year of prior mammography experience required with knowledge of Quality Practices

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification beneficial but will train

  • Knowledge of Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and basic radiation safety.

  • Prior experience using the EPIC medical record system is preferred but not required

  • Previous experience with the Microsoft Office Suite software programs is beneficial
