Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nManager, Electronics Engineering 2\n\nNorthrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a leader to manage its growing radio frequency (RF) microwave and mixed signal electrical subsystem and hardware design engineering team. These groups are responsible for architecting, designing, verifying, and supporting existing and future RF microwave and mixed signal assemblies and subsystems across a variety of platforms.\n\nGroup skill sets include trading requirements, package and device trade studies and specification, frequency planning, RF budgeting and chain analysis, board and assembly design, electromagnetic simulation, data reduction and analysis, design verification, and production support.\n\nThis position is located in Baltimore, MD. This position will report to the cognizant Hardware Section Lead.\n\nRoles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\n\n * Lead an engineering functional group of 10 to 15 engineers including performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning\n * Provide project and technical oversight for activities performed by the group\n * Ensure application of design processes and guidelines used in the group\n * Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers\n * Collaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groups\n * Support department initiatives, recruiting, cross-campus/sector involvement, and internally funded projects\n\n\n\nThis position is a dual role encompassing both people and project/technical leadership. Candidate is preferred to have an engineering background that includes:\n\n * Familiarity with Antenna I\u0026T\\Analysis Subsystem parts (CCAs, front-end technology, Receiver-Exciter, phased array technology) and their capabilities.\n * Familiarity with Antenna I\u0026T\\Analysis Subsystem metrics and requirements that are assessed (Gain, ERP, CPCR, Sensitivity, TOI, Noise Figure, various antenna subsystem health status, RF chain\\paths)\n * Familiarity with Antenna I\u0026T\\Analysis Hardware testing environments:\n * Build-up stations of components\\parts (Labs with program STE Test Racks)\n * Antenna Ranges (Near-Field, Compact Range, Far-Field, Spherical Near-Field)\n * Familiarity with Hardware flow processes\n * ATP Testing flow (build, environmental screening, approval to move forward to NHA, TRRs, Post-Test Data reviews, Consent to Break, OK for Stores, OK to ship)\n * Understands the Design Process (PDR, DDR, CDR checklists and design gate deliverables)\n * Tools utilized for data processing\\analysis (MATLAB, Python)\n * Documentation for Hardware (T-Specs, OTSAs, hardware drawings, ICDs, Set Selection Drawings)\n * Quality processes utilized in hardware anomaly cases (QNs, FRBs, MRBs, Engineering response to hardware failures in the ATP Test Flow, and Qualification phase)\n\n\n\nThis position is contingent upon having a current Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering or Technical degree and 8 years\u2019 experience, or a Masters degree and 6 years\u2019 experience.\n * At least 6 years of highly relevant experience, with experience as an IPT or Team Lead\n * Current, Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.\n * Engineering experience which has included responsibility as an integrated product team or technical lead\n * Excellent verbal and written communication skills\n * Basic understanding of RF, analog, and digital electronics\n * Understanding of components comprising an AESA subsystem\n * Understanding of recruitment and onboarding of engineering personnel\n * Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Master\u2019s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent\n * 10 years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment\n * Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader\n * RF and mixed signal product design, fabrication, and integration experience including, but not limited to, products in high reliability military applications\n * Understanding of RF product design and design verification testing.\n * Top Secret Clearance with SAP\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $153,800.00 - $230,800.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
