The selected candidate will be responsible for the functional management of Electronics Engineering personnel under the NGAS Systems Engineering (SE) and Avionics Engineering Integration \u0026 Execution (EI\u0026E) organization. As a leader in the SE and Avionics EI\u0026E, you will be responsible for leading a team developing critical avionics sustainment solutions. We work closely with our internal collaborators, as well as external customers and suppliers, to develop effective solutions to challenging avionics problems. We frequently collaborate across functional disciplines, offering valuable opportunities to obtain a broad understanding of many technical areas, or to more narrowly focus on developing a deep expertise in any one of our sub-disciplines.\n\nThis position will be located in Oklahoma City, OK. The successful candidate will fill the role of Section Manager for a team of Avionics Engineers, in a dual-hat role responsible for both section management (up to 20% of time) and program/projects or other technical responsibilities (80% or more of time).\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Leading a section of avionics electronics engineers (10-15 personnel)\n\n * Hiring, developing, training, and retention of section talent. Hiring will include university and experienced candidates\n\n * Providing leadership and direction to team members and managing employee performance\n\n * Day-to-day operation of the organization including employee movement and balancing of resources among programs, and resolving critical/urgent program/technical issues\n\n * Collaboration and communication between Avionics and program management\n\n * Promoting the professional development of the Avionics team and fostering a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth, and continuous improvement\n\n * Providing clear assignments, helping employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, creating an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and building a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance\n\n * Executing on one or more programs (ranging from small IR\u0026D activities or overseeing technical suppliers, to large programs, potentially including capture efforts) in a technical capacity\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9+ years of engineering experience, or 7 years with a Master\u2019s degree\n\n * Prior experience in, or knowledge of, one or more disciplines in Avionics or related area\n\n * Excellent written and verbal communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills\n\n * Ability to obtain, or active, DoD SECRET (or higher) clearance, within 5 years of last investigation\n\n * The ability to obtain/maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Active Program clearance\n\n\n\n * Demonstrated success in one or more avionics disciplines\n\n * 5+ years of direct experience leading teams and managing projects; experience leading a team of diverse individuals toward a common objective\n\n * Previous experience leading projects in the SAP/SAR environment; strong project management and team development skills\n\n * Existing special access program clearance\n\n * Active DoD TOP SECRET clearance, within 5 years of last investigation\n\n * Working knowledge of Earned Value, with the ability to build milestone schedules for execution purposes.\n\n * Experience in an Agile development environment\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $131,800.00 - $197,800.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
