Job Summary:
Panelmatic is seeking a detail-oriented experienced Manager of Building Operations for overseeing the Brookfield and Youngstown locations. The Manager of Building Operations ensures a safe, efficient environment for employees, vendors, and customers. They will blend expertise in buildings, equipment, and facility support systems to maintain existing operations and lead projects from concept through completion for the realization of an aggressive production ramp plan. An ideal candidate will manage vendor partnerships, work closely with internal teams, and support ongoing business operations while simultaneously leading the systems and facilities projects needed to meet our growth objectives.
Requirements
Job Duties:
Lead and manage capital and operational projects from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and closeout
Coordinate all phases of construction and improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and operational priorities
Partner with internal stakeholders—including executive teams, workplace experience, and operations—to support space planning, special projects, and vendor management
Manage vendor relationships with a focus on service quality, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
Negotiate contracts with consultants, contractors, and service providers to achieve best value and high performance.
Develop, manage, and forecast capital (CapEx) and operating (OpEx) budgets, ensuring cost control and accountability
Maintain working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety) to support informed decision-making and issue resolution
Produce clear and professional documentation including scopes of work, project reports, schedules, and operational updates.
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards, and internal policies
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in building operations, facilities management, construction management, or a related field.
Knowledge of building systems including regulatory requirements for utilities, fire, and security
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and best practices
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
Experience managing capital projects, vendor contracts, and budgets in a complex or high-profile environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards
Acute attention to detail
Optimizing efficiencies
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
Time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience managing large scale capital projects while ongoing production requirements are being met
Engineering degree or a minimum of 10+ years of experience in building operations, facilities management, construction management or a related field
