Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nStart your future with a new mission, Northrop Grumman\u2019s Mission Systems sector is hiring a Quality Engineering Manager 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Rolling Meadows facility as the Incoming Inspection Manager supporting the Multidomain Sensing, Targeting and Survivability (MSTS) division. \n\nThis position is responsible for the direct supervision/management of the incoming inspection team, source inspection and shipping inspection, as well as managing the Vendor Material Disposition Area (VMDA). This role is accountable for ensuring that all products received meet mission requirements through both inspection and control of non conforming material. In this position you will interact with all functions and levels of the organization in addition to being a main point of contact with DCMA, other customers and suppliers. Effective communication skills are a must. The ideal candidate will be able to coach, develop and mentor their team.\n\nThis opportunity will be located in Rolling Meadows, IL.\n\nWhat you will get to do:\n\n * Management responsibility for a team of 10+ direct reports.\n\n * Working with the team and programs to ensure conformance to all quality related customer contract requirements.\n\n * Working with the team assure quality products, services, and solutions throughout each program\u2019s life cycle.\n\n * Ensuring compliance to Quality Management System (QMS) business policies and processes.\n\n * Work cross functionally to identify and facilitate initiatives for business, operational, technical, and administrative process improvements.\n\n * Driving Continuous Improvement activities within the organization.\n\n * Develop and improve process metrics to drive improvement in the organization\n\n * Deliver quality-related data / presentations to leadership.\n\n * Problem solving in a team environment\n\n * Review Corrective Actions for acceptance or closure as part of the corrective action review board.\n\n * Coordinate with the Mission Assurance, Manufacturing and Program Management to ensure program success\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * STEM Bachelor\u2019s degree with 5 years of relevant experience relating to quality, manufacturing, engineering and/or program/project management OR; a STEM Master\u2019s degree with 3 years of relevant experience relating to quality, manufacturing, engineering and/or program/project management.\n\n * Experience with inspection processes and techniques\n\n * Experience with Quality policies, procedures and processes \n\n * Experience managing a budget\n\n * Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings\n\n * Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security Secret Clearance\n\n * US Citizenship Required\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Active US DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years\n\n * Experience managing teams within one or more of the following areas: Quality Engineering, Mission Assurance, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing / Process Engineering or Equivalent\n\n * Experience using SAP\n\n * Experience with the MRB processes\n\n * ASQ Certifications such as CQM/OE, CQE, etc. \n\n * AS9100 experience\n\n * Six Sigma Yellow, Green or Black Belt\n\n * Experience working in the Defense Industry\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $105,000.00 - $157,600.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
