Sports and Recreation at The J provides opportunities for fun, recreation, and skill development in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The J’s Sports and Recreation facilities include five outdoor ballfields with lights, three of which are artificial turf fields; two gymnasiums for basketball, volleyball and pickleball; two tennis courts; four racquetball courts; four outdoor pickleball courts and an indoor turf space. Programming includes leagues, clinics and camps for both youth and adults in a variety of sports.
The Manager, Sports and Recreation (Youth Baseball and Softball) is one of several Manager positions within The J’s Sports and Recreation department and reports to the Director of Sports and Recreation. This position coordinates and oversees all day-to-day operations and administration of The J's youth baseball and softball programs, including, but not limited to, league administration, scheduling, registration, staffing and communication. The Manager is responsible for program growth, fiscal sustainability, and effective resource management, including the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of part-time and seasonal staff. The Manager also ensures compliance with The J’s youth protection policies, health and safety standards, and operational procedures.
Baseball and softball programming operates year-round, with a smaller Fall league, a larger Spring/Summer league, and camps & clinics offered year-round. The Spring/Summer season runs from April through early July and represents the program’s busiest period, requiring evening and weekend hours as operational demands dictate. A flexible work schedule is permitted to accommodate these seasonal demands and balance programming needs throughout the year.
This is an exciting time for The J’s baseball program, which recently celebrated a record-breaking spring season for player registrations and continues to grow. With more than 1,700 players participating during the Spring/Summer season, this position offers an opportunity to build on that momentum, strengthen the program’s operations, and enhance the experience for players, families, coaches, and volunteers.
