Manual Machinist – Precision Manufacturing
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (10-hour shifts)
Overtime: Saturdays as needed
Starting Pay: From $24.00 per hour, with higher pay available based on experience.
Position Overview
We are hiring a skilled Manual Machinist to produce precision-machined components using manual machining equipment. This role is ideal for someone with experience working from blueprints, maintaining tight tolerances, and producing quality parts in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret machining blueprints and shop drawings.
- Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.
- Machine components to required specifications and dimensions.
- Hold machining tolerances as close as .0005" when required.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools, including:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Dial bore gauges
- Additional precision measuring instruments
- Produce accurate, high-quality parts while meeting production expectations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by following established safety procedures.
- Demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications
- Experience operating manual lathes, mills, and drill presses.
- Ability to read and understand machining blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of precision measurement and machining tolerances.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
- 10-hour shifts
- Saturday overtime available as business needs require
