Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Manufacturing Technician B who will Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations and testing on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and testing equipment. Works from work instructions with minimal supervision and uses hand and/or power tools. Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed and troubleshoots failures. Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has moderate impact on the overall achievement of results for the team. Work is of moderate scope, typically on larger, test-related activities.

Essential Functions:

• Follow and comply with work instructions, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions.


• Assemble, align, and test systems and components for optics and laser assemblies following specified work instructions and procedures to ensure the finished product meets operational and cosmetic requirements.


• Work with RTV, epoxy, and other bonds/adhesives.


• Complete fine/complex assemblies with small components and apply bonds/adhesives, potentially using a microscope.


• Make fine adjustments while simultaneously monitoring computer/screen output of unit results.


• Operate complex active alignment stations and tooling.


• Use, read, and interpret oscilloscopes and other measurement devices/tools.


• Possess working knowledge of electronic, optical, and mechanical assemblies.


• Perform basic computer activities with provided programs.


• Identify, utilize, and perform preventive maintenance on tools and test equipment as required.


• Demonstrate comprehension of engineering prints and schematics.


• Report deviations from standards to the appropriate resources for review, instruction, and authorization, and obtain quality inspections when appropriate.


• Support Lean manufacturing efforts through continuous process improvement.


• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.


• Apply considerable math skills to perform calculations involving adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent.


• Cultivate a culture that assures effective cross-functional teamwork.


• Perform job duties in compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

Cleanroom Responsibilities:
• Follow and comply with all cleanroom guidelines (no perfume or lotions, no shorts/skirts/capris without hosiery, full PPE including hair net, face mask, safety goggles, smock, gloves as examples)

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 0-2 years prior experience
