This role is within Chamberlain Group's Marketing function, reporting to the Director, Customer Insights and Market Intelligence. A successful candidate is responsible for building and operating the company's foundational market intelligence capability, spanning competitive monitoring, market sizing, category performance tracking, pricing and positioning insights, and trend analysis, so that high-quality market understanding consistently informs long-term strategy, planning, product and service development, and go-to market execution.
In partnership with insights leadership, this individual will help develop the infrastructure of the market intelligence function: identifying and managing the portfolio of syndicated and secondary research resources, building and curating a centralized research repository, evaluating and implementing tools for research synthesis and insight enablement, and designing the processes, practices, and structured cadences through which insights are shared with the broader business. Success in this position looks like a market intelligence function that operates on a reliable rhythm, produces insights that stakeholders trust and act on, and makes existing knowledge easy for the organization to find and use.
This is a builder role. The candidate must be comfortable operating with ambiguity, standing up new processes, and personally generating insights while simultaneously constructing the systems that scale them.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and operate the core market intelligence capability, including competitive monitoring, market sizing, category intelligence, pricing and positioning insights, and trend analysis, delivering ongoing intelligence that informs strategy, planning, product development, and go-to-market decisions
- Collect, validate, and synthesize market, category, competitive, and consumer insights from primary and secondary sources into clear implications and recommendations that drive business decisions and organizational action
- Identify, evaluate, and manage the portfolio of syndicated research resources and data subscriptions; manage external research vendor relationships including scoping, budgeting, quality, and timeliness, and continuously assess the portfolio for coverage, redundancy, and return on investment
- Cultivate cross-functional relationships with partner teams around the business to identify syndicated research and insights engagements, access levels and gaps
- Design, build, and maintain a centralized research and insights repository, including taxonomy, governance, curation standards, and adoption practices that make prior research discoverable and reusable across the organization
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement tools and platforms (including AI-enabled solutions) for internal research synthesis and insight democratization, enabling self-service access to insights for teams across the business
- Help develop and run the processes, practices, and mechanisms for communicating insights to the broader business, including a structured, recurring share-out cadence (e.g., briefings, readouts, digests, and stakeholder forums) that builds organizational awareness of and engagement with insights work
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Strategy, and other teams to understand business questions, gather inputs, identify knowledge gaps, and shape the research and insights agenda in support of the Director, Customer Insights and Market Intelligence
- Design and support primary research initiatives (e.g., surveys, interviews, and desk research) as needed to close knowledge gaps not addressed by secondary sources
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
- Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
