PAY: $17.00 per hour (plus additional compensation for services rendered)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Massage Therapist provides exceptional therapeutic massage and wellness services designed to promote relaxation, recovery, stress relief, and overall well-being while delivering an unparalleled luxury spa experience. This position performs customized massage treatments based on each Member's individual needs, health history, and wellness goals while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, sanitation, and personalized service.

The Massage Therapist serves as a wellness ambassador for Hideaway Golf Club by creating a peaceful and restorative environment, building trusted Member relationships, and delivering exceptional care that reflects the Club's commitment to luxury hospitality and wellness excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Member Wellness & Therapeutic Services

· Conduct confidential health consultations and review intake information prior to each treatment. 

· Perform customized massage therapy services within the scope of licensure and professional training. 

· Adapt treatment techniques based on Member preferences, health considerations, physical limitations, and wellness goals. 

· Educate Members on post-treatment care, stretching, hydration, recovery, and wellness recommendations when appropriate. 

· Maintain accurate treatment records while protecting Member confidentiality. 

· Monitor Member comfort throughout each treatment and adjust pressure, techniques, and environment as needed. 

· Promote relaxation, wellness, recovery, and overall health through safe and effective therapeutic practices. 

Member Experience & Hospitality

· Deliver exceptional, personalized service that exceeds Member expectations. 

· Welcome Members warmly and create a calm, relaxing, and professional environment from arrival through departure. 

· Build trusted professional relationships while maintaining appropriate therapeutic boundaries. 

· Anticipate Member needs and provide thoughtful, individualized care. 

· Demonstrate empathy, discretion, professionalism, and exceptional communication throughout each service. 

· Protect the privacy and confidentiality of all Member health information. 

· Ensure treatment rooms consistently reflect the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, comfort, and luxury. 

Spa Operations

· Prepare treatment rooms before each appointment, ensuring all linens, supplies, equipment, and amenities are properly stocked and sanitized. 

· Clean and sanitize treatment rooms and equipment following each service in accordance with applicable health and safety standards. 

· Maintain inventory of massage supplies, oils, lotions, linens, and operating materials. 

· Report equipment maintenance or facility concerns promptly. 

· Participate in spa promotions, wellness events, and special Member programs. 

· Promote massage therapy services, wellness treatments, retail products, and spa offerings through Member education and exceptional service. 

· Support departmental goals by encouraging Member participation in wellness services and promoting a culture of health and relaxation. 

Professional Standards

· Maintain all required state licenses and professional certifications. 

· Complete all required continuing education requirements. 

· Remain current on massage therapy techniques, wellness trends, and industry best practices. 

· Follow all sanitation, infection prevention, safety, and emergency procedures. 

· Maintain a polished professional appearance consistent with Hideaway Golf Club standards. 

· Foster teamwork through positive communication and collaboration. 

· Represent Hideaway Golf Club with professionalism, integrity, compassion, and respect. 

· Perform other duties as assigned.

MEMBER EXPERIENCE & TREATMENT EXPECTATIONS

· Review Member health history and treatment preferences prior to each appointment. 

· Begin and conclude each treatment on time while providing a seamless luxury spa experience. 

· Maintain accurate treatment documentation while protecting Member confidentiality. 

· Communicate professionally regarding appointments, scheduling changes, treatment recommendations, and follow-up care. 

· Ensure treatment rooms remain clean, comfortable, quiet, and guest-ready throughout the day. 

· Encourage long-term wellness by educating Members on appropriate self-care and therapeutic recommendations. 

· Maintain professional therapeutic boundaries in all Member interactions. 

· Support Hideaway Golf Club's commitment to luxury wellness experiences and personalized Member care.

• Current California Massage Therapy certification or license as required by applicable law. 

• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred. 

• Previous experience in a luxury spa, resort, private club, wellness center, or comparable environment preferred. 

• Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, contraindications, and therapeutic massage techniques. 

• Ability to customize treatments based on Member needs and physical conditions. 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

• Professional appearance, discretion, and sound judgment. 

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding Member health information. 

• Commitment to exceptional Member service and luxury hospitality standards. 

• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Experience with multiple massage modalities (Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Prenatal, Hot Stone, or other specialty treatments) preferred. 

• Hospitality, customer service, or wellness industry experience is beneficial. 

• Commitment to delivering exceptional Member service while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance 

• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

• Criminal and civil background clearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work Environment 

This position works throughout the Spa & Fitness Center, primarily in private massage treatment rooms and wellness areas, with occasional responsibilities in locker rooms, reception areas, retail spaces, and other Club facilities. Massage Therapists interact closely with Members, Guests, Spa staff, and Club leadership while providing personalized treatments and wellness services. This role requires maintaining a calm, relaxing, safe, and professional environment while consistently delivering luxury hospitality and exceptional Member care. 

List of specific job duties that require the physical demands selected above:  

· Standing for extended periods while performing massage therapy services and preparing treatment rooms. 

· Performing repetitive hand, wrist, forearm, shoulder, and upper body movements throughout massage treatments. 

· Frequently bending, reaching, leaning, kneeling, and adjusting body positioning while providing therapeutic massage services. 

· Applying sustained manual pressure using hands, fingers, wrists, forearms, and elbows during various massage modalities. 

· Preparing treatment rooms by lifting, carrying, and replacing linens, bolsters, towels, massage supplies, and wellness equipment. 

· Using computers, tablets, scheduling software, and electronic health records to manage appointments and treatment documentation. 

· Communicating continuously with Members, Guests, Spa staff, and management regarding treatments, scheduling, and wellness recommendations. 

· Maintaining treatment room cleanliness and sanitation by cleaning equipment, changing linens, stocking supplies, and following infection prevention procedures. 

· Monitoring Member comfort, physical response, and overall well-being throughout each treatment while maintaining awareness of safety and professional standards. 

Working in a quiet, climate-controlled spa environment while maintaining a calm, relaxing, and professional atmosphere.
