Master's Level Clinician Requirements
Must always present as courteous and professional;â¯
Maintains and submits any current Licensure or Certificate necessary for the performance of the position;
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks;â¯
Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion;â¯
Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAO Electronic Health Record (EHR);â¯
Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner;â¯
An understanding of the relationship between substance uses and mental health issues and/or self-help programs;â¯
Understand and maintain therapeutic boundaries;â¯
Reinforce rules in a respectful manner;â¯
Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder and HIPAA Regulations;â¯
TB/Flu and Covid19 Assessment;â¯
Annual Completion of the HPAO crisis de-escalation program;â¯
CPR Certification;â¯
Successful completion of all trainings upon hire and annually as required.
Master's Level Clinician Duties and Responsibilities
Crisis intervention;
Maintain assigned caseload;
Providing clinical services to patients – including required assessments, individual counseling, discharge and aftercare planning, treatment plans and updates, weekly progress notes, daily groups facilitation, group note completion, and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments;
Making referrals when appropriate;
Responsible for each assigned patients' medical records, maintaining professional, complete and thorough entries made in a timely manner;
Responsible connecting patients with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding them in family access services when appropriate;
Communicating/involving family in treatment at patients request;
Attend and participate in all unit, facility meetings, case conferences, Treatment Team meetings, and mandatory trainings, as directed by the Clinical Director;
Responsible for continued education in the field of substance use, mental health and related courses;
Always utilize standards precautions;
Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient’s rights;
Completion of all required external clinical communications including court/DCF/DMH monthly compliance reports, evaluation summaries, other requested external documentation;
Ability to provide clinical services through in-person and telehealth modalities;
Maintain professional license in good standing, as applicable;
Responsible for contacting the insurance company for authorization, as needed;
Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director, Program Administrator, or Site Director.
Master's Level Clinician Qualifications
Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines or a closely related field: clinical psychology, education-counseling, medicine, psychology, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling, social work.
Minimum of one year of supervised substance use and/or mental health disorder counseling experience preferred.
