Role Description
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient flow of product through the warehouse, including unloading, loading, put-away/store-away, and order picking. This role works in a cooler/refrigerated environment and is essential to maintaining accurate inventory and on-time fulfillment.
Specific Responsibilities:
Receive inbound shipments by unloading, verifying, and staging materials according to receiving procedures
Load outbound shipments accurately and safely to meet daily dispatch requirements
Pick and build orders following the daily order sheet, ensuring strict adherence to FIFO and product handling standards
Operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, step ladders, etc.) safely and in compliance with training and certification requirements
Align daily priorities by communicating proactively with supervisors and supporting team workflow
Maintain warehouse organization through consistent application of 5S principles
Conduct pre‑operation inspections and routine cleaning to keep all material handling equipment in optimal working condition
Ensure WMS accuracy by keeping all physical movements aligned with ParityFactory transactions in real time
Perform general housekeeping and sanitation to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older
1-3 years of relevant experience in material handling and operating a forklift
Food manufacturing experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Willingness to learn and take on tasks with quality and timeliness of work
Ability to maintain discipline in repetitive tasks and communicate effectively with any concerns
Highly organized, methodical, disciplined, and detail-oriented
Self sufficient in looking for opportunities to improve efficiency and quality of work
English speaking
Physical and Work Related Requirements:
Standing and walking for long periods of time
Repetitive motion for long periods of time
Bending and lifting up to 50 LB
Ability to handle allergens including peanuts and treenuts
Carrying, stooping, grasping, twisting, communicating with co-workers
Must be able to read or distinguish by color between product types and labels
Willing and able to work in an environment of 34 to 37 degrees and also spend some time in a 25 degree freezer
