Summary Description


 


This entry-level position focuses on performing material handling and spotting tasks to safely support warehouse operations through the movement, storage, handling, and distribution of products, materials, and services. The role supports warehouse operations through material movement, operation of powered industrial equipment, inventory support, spotting activities, and authorized yard movements to ensure the safe handling and transportation of materials throughout the facility. 


 


Essential Duties


 


Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.


 



  1. Serve as a spotter / yard jockey for trailers, and other mobile equipment, assisting with all aspects of safe trailer movement where required.  



  1. Operate safely Forklifts, Spotter truck, packaging machines, and other authorized material handling equipment to support warehouse operations.  



  1. Safely load, unload, store, and move materials throughout warehouse operations, including trucks, shipping, and receiving areas, staging locations, and storage areas.  



  1. Support inventory control activities, including material counts, inspections, and inventory accuracy initiatives.  



  1. Support compliance with facility traffic management plans, pedestrian safety requirements, and all company safety policies.  



  1. Support inventory management processes, including cycle counts, stock reconciliation. 



  1. Support resolving operational issues, bottlenecks, or material shortages driving continuous improvement initiatives.  



  1. Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) and SAP software & handheld devices to monitor inventory and process shipments. 



  1. Coordinate equipment maintenance schedules and certifications for warehouse equipment. 



  1. Maintain detailed logs, including shipping manifests, inventory reports, and material usage records. 



  1. Develop and implement process improvements to optimize material flow and reduce waste. 



  1. Collaborate & support with production and warehouse leadership to meet operational and production goals. 


 


 


Education and/or Experience: Education and/or Experience 


High School Diploma or equivalent.  Minimum one (1) year of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, transportation, or a related environment preferred.  Forklift certification and/or experience operating powered industrial equipment preferred.  


Minimum one (1) year of experience performing trailer spotting, yard movements, or commercial vehicle operations preferred.  Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.  


 


 


Must have:


Strong working knowledge of business computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word). SAP or similar software experience preferred.

Ability to follow directions, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with others.

Work scheduled shift and overtime as needed

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to communicate orally and written in English.


 


Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures by using basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).


 


Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to problem solve complex issues.
