Job Title: Material Handler- Temporary Assignment

Department: Production

Reports To: Production Manager

Position Summary: Lead the effort to route manufactured parts to the next operation. Aid in the safe loading of materials onto machines and unloading of incoming materials (receiving).

Position Summary

The Material Handler plays a key role in keeping production moving efficiently across our metal fabrication operations. In this role, you will lead efforts to route manufactured parts to downstream stations, safely assist with machine loading, and handle incoming freight receiving

Responsibilities

• Work Order Execution: Review work orders and job routers to identify completed parts and accurately move them to the next production step.
• Material Transport: Operate sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, and manual/electric pallet jacks to transport parts to holding racks or directly to machine centers.
• Machine Support: Safely assist machine operators with loading raw materials and sheet metal onto machinery.
• Receiving Operations: Unload incoming freight and raw materials from delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
• Inventory & Space Management: Organize raw stock and parts on warehouse racks, optimize floor space, and regularly consolidate skids.
• Scrap & Waste Management: Safely handle metal scrap and bins, track scrap bin fill levels, and coordinate scheduled pickups as needed.
• Cross-Functional Support: Assist other fabrication or assembly departments as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: 2–5 years of material handling experience, including proven proficiency with sit-down forklifts and stand-up reach trucks.
• Language Skills: Basic English proficiency (verbal and written) to follow safety signage, job routings, and company policies.
• Core Competencies:

Salary Range: $17.00-$18.50 per hour. The pay range for this position is approximate. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities.
