Material Requirement Planner

Position Overview: 

Leads material requirements planning activities and national level forecasting for the Supply Chain. Manages reports, tools, and forecasts that Demand Planners rely on to execute regional and DC-level planning. Generate and load statistical forecasts at the national level, maintaining planning data integrity. Analyzes MRP and forecast outputs, identifies exceptions and improvement opportunities, maintains planning tools, and provides data, reporting, and system support to business partners across the organization.

Key Responsibilities: 

Manage Material Requirements Planning

• Manage and execute the MRP review process, curating reporting and tools used by Demand Planners to support material availability and customer requirements.


• Analyze planning outputs, inventory positions, usage trends, and replenishment requirements to identify exceptions and planning risks.


• Monitor planning parameters and maintain data integrity across regions to support accurate material planning results.


• Identify supply constraints and provide recommendations that support inventory and service objectives.


• Support mass updates and required maintenance of material planning data.

 Perform Forecasting and Forecast Analytics

• Generate and load statistical forecasts and curate forecast reporting and tools that Demand Planners apply to their regional/DC level forecasting needs.


• Monitor forecast performance and identify significant demand changes, trends, and forecast exceptions.


• Maintain forecast review processes and provide reporting that Demand Planners can use to support their regional planning decisions.


• Analyze forecast results and provide recommendations to improve forecast accuracy and planning effectiveness.


• Maintain forecast related data and planning inputs to support accurate demand projections from national level down to the DC level.

 Support Ongoing Enhancements and Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, reporting, data quality, and operational efficiency. Execute improvements in the reporting and planning process.


• Create, maintain, and enhance planning reports, tools, databases, and automated processes used by Demand Planners and other planning stakeholders.


• Develop or modify reporting and analytical solutions based on evolving business needs.


• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen planning accuracy and process consistency.


• Document process improvements, system enhancements, and updated workflows to support long-term sustainability.

 Provide Planning Tools, Reporting, and Guidance

• Provide advanced planning-system expertise, analytical guidance, and reporting solutions to Demand Planning, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams.


• Communicate planning exceptions, forecast findings, supply risks, and recommended actions to appropriate stakeholders.


• Develop and deliver reporting and analysis that support cross-functional planning activities and business initiatives.


• Provide guidance and training on the effective use of material planning systems, reports, tools, and workflows, ensuring Demand Planners are equipped to execute their role.


• Complete special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Expected Skills and Qualifications: 

• 
  

  A minimum of 5 years' of experience in Material Planning, Demand Planning, Forecasting, Inventory Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Distribution, and/or Logistics.

  
  


• 
  

  Possesses strong analytical skills and experience utilizing planning systems and data analysis to support inventory, forecasting, and supply chain decision-making.

  
  


• 
  

  Associate’s degree in supply chain management, business, statistics, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted for education.

  
  


• 
  

  Proficiency with SAP S/4HANA and Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Microsoft Excel.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience utilizing reporting, database, and data management tools to support planning and analytical activities.

  
  

Additional Preferred Skills and Qualifications: 

• 
  

  Knowledge of Microsoft Access and business intelligence/reporting tools.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with Python and planning system automation.
