JOB OVERVIEW
The Temp, Materials, is responsible for helping facilitate all fabric and trim development. This individual will partner with the cross-functional teams to support the execution of seasonal fabric and trim developments that meet all aesthetic requirements and align with sourcing strategy and cost targets.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare fabric packages and send them to potential mills/vendors for sourcing
- Prepare packages for lab dips and strike-offs for material development
- Manage all development files, seasonal recaps, and processes statuses
- Manage all fabric submissions, developments, and approvals
- Maintain fabric and trim reference libraries for existing and future garments
- Maintain lap dips and strike offs files
- Measure samples as needed
- Track samples with vendors
- Receive and distribute packages within the materials department/team
- Assist with data entry projects, as needed
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to measure garments
- Ability to prioritize workflow based on deadlines
- Ability to problem-solve and communicate all issues to cross-functional departments
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree or technical trade school and equivalent
- Minimum 1-year experience in materials and apparel product development
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)
- Work is performed in a designated professional office workstation and environment.
- Extensive use of office equipment, including computer, calculator, copier, fax, and other business-related machines and software.
