Description The Materials Group Manager will play a vital role in overseeing and directing the work of our materials testing and inspection team. This position requires strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of construction materials and testing processes, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The manager will work closely with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of materials testing and inspection professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work.
Oversee and review testing procedures and results, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Develop and implement efficient testing protocols and strategies to enhance productivity and accuracy.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering expert advice and ensuring client satisfaction.
Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects are completed within scope and on time.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations, and implement best practices.
Conduct regular team meetings and provide performance feedback to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Ensure health and safety standards are met on all projects, and promote a culture of safety within the team.
Collaborate with other departments and external partners to integrate materials testing services effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials testing and inspection, with a proven track record of leadership.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing methods, and industry standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and lead a team.
Proficiency in project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with relevant software and technology used in materials testing and reporting.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites within the Austin area.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Professional certification or license in materials testing is preferred.
