Materials Manager

The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing all parts and inventory operations within a location to reduce vehicle downtime, control repair costs, and ensure parts availability. This role drives compliance with company processes, manages inventory levels, resolves parts shortages, and coordinates with maintenance teams to ensure technicians receive the right parts when needed.

The starting salary for this role is $55,000. 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all parts operations, including ordering, inventory management, and invoice reconciliation
• Implement and maintain division-level parts processes within the local market
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and audit requirements
• Monitor inventory levels and establish appropriate stock thresholds to minimize vehicle downtime
• Optimize parts spending while maintaining operational efficiency
• Research and troubleshoot back-ordered parts issues
• Utilize dealer networks, used parts, and other approved sourcing methods to expedite part acquisition
• Coordinate with supervisors, managers, and clerks to ensure timely delivery of parts to technicians
• Maintain accurate inventory records and parts documentation
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance parts availability and operational performance

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• 2+ years in a management or supervisory role overseeing inventory and direct reports
• 1+ years in dealership parts department preferred
• General understanding of maintenance practices (preventative and warranty preferred) 
• Previous parts ordering experience 
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
