Math Department Head

Ridgeview Classical Schools is seeking interested and qualified candidates for a Mathematics Department Head. Ridgeview’s instruction in mathematics emphasizes a conceptual approach and cumulative retention. All pupils are given the opportunity to test into the highest level of mathematics in which they can reasonably be successful. Ridgeview implements a Singapore mathematics curriculum in grades K-8 and a variety of advanced and AP mathematics courses at the secondary level. 

The Math Department Head is responsible for working with the Academic Dean to ensure proper implementation of the mathematics curriculum in K-12, managing day-to-day operations for the upper school math faculty, and facilitating professional development for department members (particularly through regular observations and mentorship). The most qualified candidates will have at least five years of teaching experience at the secondary level or higher, have prior management experience, and will demonstrate a clear understanding of best practices for implementing mathematics education in a classical school.

Upon submitting a complete application, candidates may be contacted for an interview with the Academic Dean. Successful candidates will then be asked to conduct a mock teach and interview with a hiring committee. After this, final hiring decisions are made by the Headmaster.
