Math Tutor

Tutor Doctor is hiring dependable and knowledgeable High School Math Tutors to work one-on-one with students in Thousand Oaks and nearby areas. This role focuses on higher-level math support, including Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus, with opportunities to assist in Calculus and standardized test prep (SAT/ACT math) possibly.

This is a great fit for credentialed teachers, STEM majors, graduate students, engineers, and experienced tutors who enjoy helping high school students build confidence and succeed in challenging math courses.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, one-on-one math tutoring for high school students (grades 9–12)


• Support coursework, homework completion, and exam/test preparation


• Break down complex concepts into clear, understandable steps


• Adapt instruction to each student’s learning style and pace


• Help students strengthen problem-solving skills and academic confidence


• Complete brief session notes after each tutoring session

Qualifications

• Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred (especially at the high school level)


• Strong proficiency in high school math (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus; Calculus a plus)


• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently


• Reliable transportation for in-person sessions


• Professional, punctual, and dependable


• Availability during after-school hours and evenings


• Minimum commitment of 3 months
