Matthews Hospitality Coordinator

The Hospitality Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for the Hospitality teams and environments for the Matthews congregation, creating welcoming spaces where people experience belonging. The Hospitality Coordinator also plays a key part in the Assimilation Process by intentionally engaging with First Time Guests, helping them take meaningful next steps toward connection and belonging at New City.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sunday Morning Hospitality

• Provide structure and support for Hospitality volunteer teams through weekly scheduling, communication, and coordination.


• Lead Sunday morning Hospitality teams in alignment with New City mission, vision, and values.

• Cultivate a Sunday morning environment that is welcoming, intentional, and communicates a sense of belonging to First Time Guests.


• Equip and develop Sunday morning Hospitality volunteers through 1-on-1s, trainings, and ongoing encouragement.


• Identify, encourage, and recruit people to take a step in Purpose in their Discipleship Journey.

• Maintain Hospitality supplies and inventory, including restocking and purchasing necessary supplies for ministry environments.


• Coordinate the Matthews team in planning, organizing, and executing Christmas Eve and Easter decorating.

Assimilation

• Oversee Matthews Assimilation Process through managing CCB process queues and ensuring timely follow up with First Time Guests.


• Intentionally connect with First Time Guests as they take a step into Belonging and community.


• Meet with First Time Guests and regular attendees, helping guide them in their Discipleship Journey and mobilize them to the appropriate opportunities.


• Help execute environments for adults to connect and engage at New City, including Connection Point, Next Step Lunch, and related environments.

Other

• Be present for all staff stand up and staff meetings.


• Attend Matthews Team Meetings


• Other duties as assigned by Matthews Ministry Director

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Experience:

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities both written and in person.


• Experience in recruiting, training, and managing volunteers.


• A desire to help people find and follow Jesus.


• A heart for people to experience hospitality and belonging.

Spiritual Requirements:

• Must be a professing Christian.


• Personal alignment to the Statement of Faith of the Evangelical Free Church in America.
