POSITION TITLE: Member Business Lending Officer I
SALARY STATUS: Hourly
REPORTS TO: Director of Member Business Lending

Qualifications of Position:
- General knowledge and understanding of financial institutions/services and customer/member service principles
- Ability to prioritize tasks, and deal effectively with competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
- Possess effective communication, organization, and technical writing skills
- Experience with the Symitar core preferred
- Strong desire to be in the commercial lending field as a career choice
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in underwriting and processing business or consumer loans preferred
Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate properly with personnel and management to ensure positive and clear understanding of credit union goals and direction.
- Learn the loan processor and clerk roles that will allow the lender to appreciate and assist the loan processor in duties that will be helpful to the efficient running of the MBL department.
- Learn the products that are available to MBL Members and be able to present those to potential MBL members.
- Learn to originate and underwrite commercial loan applications.
- Keep updated on any industry changes and compliance updates.
- Responsible for the compliance of all member business loans to NCUA rules and regulations and credit union policy and procedure.
- Responsible for assisting with loan renewals, annual credit reviews and updates to the MBL portfolio which includes income analysis, collateral valuation, credit analysis, and collection of necessary documentation to perform such reviews.
- Monitor rates and pricing for MBL products and services, not only to remain competitive, but also to insure adequate income opportunity for the credit union.
- Develop and maintain relationships with member business owners and pursue relationships with other business owners in order to promote new business.
- Complete any training necessary to stay abreast of current regulations and lending trends.
- Assist with the collection of delinquent member business loan payments.
- Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of MBL files.
- Must cooperate and work well with state, federal, internal and external auditors and examiners.
- Travel to other locations, attend seminars, conferences, etc., as required.
- And other duties as assigned.
Regulatory Compliance & Confidentiality
Follows regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include those efforts in compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags and other compliance related policies. This position also requires maintaining confidentiality with regard to non-public information about our members and the Credit Union.
