Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; Saturdays as needed
Job Overview
We are hiring a Mechanical Assembly Technician to build and install components for overhead cranes and hoists. This hands-on role involves using basic mechanical tools, reading shop drawings, handling materials, and working at elevated heights in a heavy industrial environment. Comfort with climbing cranes and working approximately 15 feet above ground is required. Climbing and elevated work are performed using OSHA-compliant equipment, including appropriate gates and guardrails.
Responsibilities:
Assemble mechanical parts for overhead cranes and hoists, including bearings and couplings on shafts.
Use hand tools to fabricate, fit, assemble, and install mechanical components.
Read and follow shop drawings and assembly instructions.
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
Apply basic mechanical knowledge to complete assembly tasks.
Work safely around heavy industrial equipment and at elevated heights.
Lift, move, and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow applicable OSHA safety requirements.
Maintain reliable attendance and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
Work 10-hour shifts and Saturdays when required.
Required Qualifications
Basic mechanical knowledge and hands-on assembly experience.
Ability to read and understand shop drawings.
Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
Willingness and comfort to climb cranes and work at heights of approximately 15 feet using OSHA-compliant fall-protection equipment and approved access systems.
Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
