To collaborate effectively within a team, the goal is to ensure the seamless operation of the cement plant and its associated facilities, thereby enhancing operational efficiency in a setting that fosters continuous learning and improvement. This involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment in alignment with operational requirements while adhering to MSHA and safety regulations.
In this role, you will be responsible for executing mechanical repairs on plant equipment, which includes replacing worn or broken components and making necessary adjustments to restore functionality. You should be capable of disassembling machinery, removing defective parts, and reassembling the equipment with new or usable components. Additionally, you will install machinery, ensuring proper alignment, leveling, and adjustment of parts. Proficiency in basic welding and burning techniques is required, along with the willingness to manage the loading and unloading of repair parts between the machine shop and repair sites. Regular inspections of mechanical dust collectors for maintenance needs, including bag replacements and lubrication, will also be part of your duties. You will fabricate, install, and repair safety devices for plant equipment, prepare for metal fabrication by measuring and interpreting sketches, and create metal items such as oil pans and ducts. Furthermore, maintenance and repairs on building features like doors, windows, and plumbing will be expected. A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies is essential, as is the promotion of a safety -oriented culture.
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, with additional mechanical qualifications or training preferred. A background in mechanical maintenance is advantageous, along with a minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment. Familiarity with cement plant operations or similar heavy industrial settings is preferred, and a valid driver's license is required.
